SOWING SEEDS

February is here, and that means it’s time to dive into seed starting season! After the winter we’ve had on the East Coast, I can't tell you how ready I am. While the weather is still cool, it’s the perfect moment to kick off those cool-weather crops so we can enjoy a harvest before the summer heat kicks in. As we shake off the winter slumber and get ready for action, spring is all about nourishing our bodies with the early veggies packed with nutrients. Think leafy greens, root vegetables, and brassicas! And let’s not forget about the sure-fire signs of spring like the nettle, chickweed, and dandelion that will soon be popping up everywhere. These forageable plants are super nutrient dense! Have you started seeds yet?

WHAT’S BREWING

Thanks to a generous neighbor and having tackled a deep freezer clean-out, I’ve been inspired to experiment in the kitchen this month. Here’s a list of some things currently brewing.
